How would your life be different if you didn’t have to stress about money?
Does this scenario sound familiar? “I work hard to earn money, spend that money on things I really don’t need, and then have to work even harder to keep up with expenses.”
It can be a vicious, scary cycle. And it’s a trap my family fell into.
Both my husband and I were working so hard to afford our lifestyle. We never saw each other, and when we did, we were too exhausted to do more than just watch TV. While I was working, I had to leave my young daughter in daycare for 10 hours a day – I felt so guilty. I wanted change desperately, but didn’t know if it was possible.
I had to at least give it a try.
This past year has been one big experiment. Slowly but surely, I am learning to be content with what God has given me, and use what I already have to make what I need. While it’s been difficult at times, for the most part, I have enjoyed learning to spend less. I have always loved finding great deals, so living a more frugal lifestyle has become a fun challenge!
And I think that is the key.
Learning to save money doesn’t have to be this horrible thing that you are forced to do. It can be an adventure! It’s exciting to find new ways to spend less and save more. You really don’t need to spend a lot of money to have a wonderful life!
