Crochet has all the makings of a perfect hobby. It’s inexpensive, fun, and a great way to relax. Personally, I love to curl up on the couch with some yarn and a great show (or a cartoon – when you have kids, that’s all you watch) and spend the evening crocheting.
I learned how to crochet when I was a teenager from a book I got at the craft store. Now with all the online tutorials, it’s easier than ever to learn the art of crochet. I must warn you, however, crochet is addictive. One day you may even find yourself with a whole room devoted to yarn! Don’t say I didn’t warn you 🙂
So about the pattern. This simple crochet scarf pattern uses only 2 stitches (making it perfect for beginners), the chain stitch and the half double crochet. If you aren’t sure what those are, check out the video at the end of this post!

- 2 skeins of Yarn Bee Alpine Authentic yarn (126 yards each). Purple Multi or your choice of color.
- K Crochet Hook
- Yarn needle
In the 2nd chain from hook, make one half double crochet. Half double crochet in every stitch until you reach the end of the row.
Chain 2. Turn work. Half double crochet in first stitch from the hook and then in every stitch until the end of the row.
Continue creating rows until the scarf reaches your desired length.
At the end of the last row, pull the yarn through the final loop. Use a yarn needle to weave in ends.
