My baby, Ella, is 1.5 years old and has never slept through the night. Even though I know it isn’t a reflection on my parenting, I still feel a little embarrassed to admit this. We have tried countless “sleep training” methods with limited success. I suppose she just isn’t ready for this long-awaited milestone quite yet.
Of course, its not like she hasn’t made any progress since her newborn days. She has finally gotten to the point where she only wakes up once or twice a night. This is a huge improvement, and has made everyone’s lives a lot more enjoyable. Unfortunately, with Daylight Savings Time quickly approaching, I am worried about how she will cope and if this will lead to even less sleep (precious, precious sleep).
Tips for Surviving Daylight Savings
I know that Ella will sleep through the night eventually, but in the meantime, I do my best to make sure she is as comfortable and as relaxed as possible every night. Setting the thermostat appropriately, sprinkling a few pacifiers in her crib (she is always losing them at night!), and making sure her feet are covered are all on the bedtime checklist. There is one tip, however, that is most important for a comfortable sleep- a dry diaper. Let me tell you, when Ella’s diaper leaks, EVERYBODY hears about it! Since she was born, I’ve used Pampers at night. Unlike other diapers that offer two layers, Pampers uses three absorbent layers to provide up to 12 hours of overnight dryness protection. When you have a baby with sleep problems, the last thing you want to deal with is a leaky diaper.

We just try to adjust bedtime accordingly.
I think the best thing to do is just keep with your routine just like its a normal time. Stick to your schedule no matter daylight savings time.
We usually just stick to a schedule and that works out fine over time.
We try to adjust our schedules a few days out.
It’s never been a big problem here, just keep to a routine that works for your family.
Try to do a little bit later/earlier every day for about a week leading up to it.
I don’t have a tip; we just adjust.
My tip is to take a few days to slowly adjust to the time change.
my little one is only 3 months old so it is not a big problem yet for us. we usually just go to bed when he gets tired and we get up around 8 or 9 every morning.

Our 7-month-old adjusts pretty easily, but we started putting her to bed an hour later for a few days leading up to the time change. Not sure if it would have mattered if we didn’t do it, but she seemed to adjust better than us!
We adjust by modifying our routine a few days ahead.
Stick to a routine-it helped me when my kids were young thanks for the giveaway
We try to get to bed earlier so that the transition is better
HHIS I should have thghuot of that!
My son is not quite 4 weeks old… So we just went with it! He actually slept an extra hour between feedings 🙂
GOSH I dont think there is really an easy tip to adjust lol, I do notice though by keeping up routine no matter what helps
GO WITH THE FLOW WE WILL ALL BE MESSED UP SO THEY WILL ADJUST AS WE DO. HENCE THE REASON THEY DO IT ON A SATURDAY SO WE HAVE THE NEXT DAY TO ADJUST
Try adjusting your schedule a week prior so it won’t feel as bad.
my tip is to set two alarm clocks so that you make sure to get it right
I don’t really have a tip, daylight savings time doesn’t really seem to affect me or the little ones.
Thanks
Always use a routine! We like to do baths, stories, songs, and prayers. jj250@aol.com
