Father’s Day Card Ideas: Awesome Folded Shirt Card Tutorial

By Rebekah Leave a comment

June is a busy month for celebrations around here. Last week, my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and this week, we have Father’s Day and my sister’s birthday! I have been making cards, cakes and wrapping presents for two weeks straight! I love planning parties, though, so I don’t mind too much 🙂

With Father’s Day just a few weeks away, I sat down yesterday to make some homemade Father’s Day cards – one for my dad and one for my husband. As I searched the internet for Father’s Day card ideas and inspiration, I came across a folded shirt card tutorial that was perfect! The cards were adorable and didn’t seem too difficult to make, so I got out my craft paper and gave it a try.homemade Father's day card ideas

I absolutely love how these Father’s Day shirt cards turned out, plus I had all the supplies so they were free as well! They were so fun to make and really easy to customize. I know the fathers in my life are going to love receiving these homemade father’s day cards!

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ paper. I used scrapbook paper – so many pretty patterns!
  • embellishments of your choice. I used stick on crystals for buttons and scrap paper to make ties and pockets.

Instructions:

Embellishment Ideas:

I ended up making three of these cards – two for Father’s Day and one for my sister’s birthday. It was so fun coming up with different ideas to fit with each person’s taste and personality. The flamingo card pictured above is for my sister. In addition to the adorable flamingo print, I used round crystal stickers for buttons and coordinating pink paper for a pocket.
