The past few months have been exhausting. As a elementary music teacher, I have 800 students. Between planning lessons and grading papers, there is always work to be done. Of course, there is plenty more to do at home too. All of these responsibilities have left me tired.
I’ve found when I’m super busy, eating healthy and taking care of myself are often the first things to go. Who has the energy to cook a healthy meal, exercise, even wash your face when you are constantly overwhelmed with responsibility? The funny thing is, I know that if I did take the time to cook a nice meal or take care of myself, my work wouldn’t feel as overwhelming.
Last week I got some help. I received an adorable package from St. Ives encouraging me to makeover my routine with the help of oatmeal. This fun package was filled with mason jars of oatmeal and the new St. Ives Nourish & Soothe Oatmeal & Shea Butter body scrub and lotion – nourishment for the body and skin!
They say breakfast is the most important meal, so I swapped out my cold cereal for the yummy oatmeal jars below. Mason jars filled with oatmeal and delicious add-ins like dried fruit and nuts made for a quick easy breakfast. I definitely noticed a boast in the way I felt after this nutritious meal.
Skincare is another area that I’ve let slip through the cracks lately. So I took a cue from my new breakfast favorite, and gave St. Ives Nourish & Soothe Oatmeal & Shea Butter body scrub and lotion a test drive as well. I started with the body scrub in the shower to slough off the dry, winter skin. Then after showering, I followed up with the rich oatmeal and Shea Butter body lotion. The smell is light, the texture is rich, and just like the oatmeal I had for breakfast, this lotion left me feeling comfortable and radiant.
What is your favorite tip to deal with a super busy lifestyle?
